Glyphs initially started as a typography exercise where type was used as a visual element / graphical unit(s) — combined together to create objects, faces and other things I saw around me; this uses principles of pareidolia and was later conceptulized as an alternative puzzle to create art.
In this series, I delve into the the realm of experimental typography, where each artwork in this series is meticulously composed using a diverse array of fonts. The deliberate font selections, varying styles, and imaginative layouts, each piece unfolds a distinct narrative within a cohesive theme—a thoughtful exploration of emotions. Breaking free from traditional composition, these artworks blend negative space with dynamic arrangements, standing as testaments to the versatile and expressive power of typography. Embracing imperfections and defying conventional design boundaries, each creation becomes a standalone piece of art, weaving its own unique narrative.
The genesis of this series sprouted during the font selection for a project. Intrigued by the set of glyphs, I noticed the subtle emergence of facial features, discovering a phenomenon known as pareidolia. This sparked my imagination, leading me to assemble these glyphs into a visual puzzle. With infinite permutations and combinations, each artwork in this series unfolds as a unique exploration of pareidolia.
